By this time of the holiday season, people are often weighted down. They feel guilty about presents that are not perfect, or parties that did not go as planned, or year-end projects that did not get completed. To top it all off, now is when it dawns on people how little attention they have given to the spiritual preparation Advent invites. If that is how we feel, perhaps the frenzy of December has done us a favor. We have been humbled. Perfect! For being made aware of our weakness does not disqualify us from God’s care. It does the opposite. IT is what prepares us for the work he does best. He is a God who lifts up the lowly. Join us on Sunday at 9 a.m. for the conclusion of our sermon series "A Real Christmas." Our worship theme of the day will be "A Real Christmas Will Lift Up the Lowly." ... See MoreSee Less
Join us tonight at 7 p.m. for our midweek Advent song service, featuring music from the Trinity Men's Choir. By disobeying God, Adam and Eve proved they didn’t fully trust him. That tree points to the need for Christ, who shed his blood for our rebellion. It is the first tree in the Bible that serves as a Christmas tree . . . a tree that points us to Christ—the Tree of Rebellion. ... See MoreSee Less
When a father puts gifts under the Christmas tree, it is not to compensate his children for doing their chores. A gift is given voluntarily simply so the giver can show favor to the one receiving the gift, without any expectation of repayment. In the season of Christmas, we receive the gift of God. That does not simply mean we receive the gifts God gives. When we look into the manger, we see that God is the gift. Join us for a new series this Christmas: The Gift of God. ... See MoreSee Less
