Women of the Bible Vol. 1 Old Testament

Author: Algot Theodore Lundholm, D.D.  Category: Bible Study/Reference  Publisher: Augustana Book Concern
 Description:

These lectures on Women of the Bible were prepared in three different pastorates covering a period of nearly twenty years in the ministry. Their preparation was a labor of love for which the kindly reception accorded them returned ample compensation. While well adapted for devotional reading in general, they are primarily intended for use at the devotional hour of the regular meetings of the Ladies’ Aid in our congregations, for which purpose they furnish material of a kind not easily supplies from regular sources.

Without the devoted labors and sacrifices of the women, our Lutheran  Church would not be what it is today; and should this volume serve in any way to give recognition and encouragement to that noble band of women in the Women’s Missionary Society of our Augustana Synod, the author will consider the time and labor devoted to its preparation well spent.

May the women of our Lutheran Church continue to pray and work and give and sacrifice for the welfare of our beloved Church and for the salvation of men, until the whole world shall have been laid at the feet of Christ. The gospel of Jesus gave woman her right place in the world. Let woman do all in her p ower to give Jesus His right place in the hearts of men.
